24th of July and The LeBaron Carnival

This past week has been jam packed with family fun. We went to Park City over the 24th of July with my family. Thursday and Friday were perfect! No one was on the lake and the weather was marvelous! My dad claims it is still too cold to get in the water right now, but Porter thinks otherwise. If he had it his way he would jump right out of the boat. It was so fun for Porter to play with Joshua and Mackay, my 1 1/2 year old cousins, but he forgets that he is younger than them and can't even crawl. He gets so frustrated. We had a great time playing games, eating food, shopping and boating.

Next up, the LeBaron Family Carnival. Flori organized an impressive Carnival last night. There were games, corn dogs, face painting, pictures and prizes. The excitement was almost more than Porter could handle, he kept screaming and waving his arms. Joseph has an incredible talent for face painting, here are a few pieces of his work and some of the highlights:

The Latest

I wish I would have taken this picture before it had been snacked on, but here is my attempt at an edible fruit bouquet.  I made this for my mom's bookclub.  Case in point, people don't really want to eat the fruit because they don't want to pick it apart.Next, we finally went boating again and Porter has decided that he actually really enjoys it.  This past weekend Porter and I were flying solo because Tom spent the weekend on a brother's trip up in Park City golfing, biking, and staying up until three playing Halo and Call of Duty.  Rough life, I know.  Lucky for me, Porter's personality took a horrible downturn this same weekend.  How ironic.  He was so irritable and probably cried for almost half of the time Tom was away.  I am now choosing to take a Sunday hiatus from being a mom.  At least one of us had fun this weekend.  Thanks to the Smith's for letting them stay in their amazing cabin!

Happy 4th of July!

Fourth of July weekend has been busy. Poor Porter took his naps in backpacks, in his car seat, on the boat, at the Swimming Pool, and on Grandma's floor, so by the end of Saturday night, he was done. We had a great holiday though. We left bright and early Friday for a hike up to Three Lakes in Brighton. I don't know about the rest of you, but that 102 degree weather that was promised seemed to be MIA for us. Although I felt overly prepared with my sunscreen, hat, sun glasses, bug spray, food, formula, snack, and everything else for Porter, I failed to remember one thing, socks. His poor little feet got a little cold up at the top. We headed down the canyon to Brunch at Sharon's Cafe. Next, we packed up and headed to the pool, which, by the way, Porter absolutely loves swimming! Finally, we ended up at my parents house for a BBQ and fireworks. Later that night Tom and a few others ventured over to Holladay City to see the fireworks. He said they were an impressive display and he felt they were almost too long. Our celebration didn't end there. The next morning, quite early, we headed up to Jordanelle to go boating. It was a bit cold, but we all enjoyed it except for Porter who still can't quite handle the life jacket. This was the first time I had a chance to Wakeboard since before I was pregnant, so I definitely enjoyed myself. We finally headed home to catch a nap before we headed out to dinner. It was a jam packed weekend and our poor little boy was exhausted, but it was a great 4th of July.

Here are a few more pictures of Porter from this past week:
