Jackson's Blessing

Jackson was blessed on Sunday. Tom gave a beautiful blessing to our adorable baby boy and surprisingly Jackson didn't cry! (very out of the ordinary for him, poor kid!) We're grateful to have so much family so close to support us and to all be worthy priesthood holders to take part in this special day!
I kinda feel like maybe I missed my calling in life. . . Child Photographer? I'm just sayin' I don't think you could get cuter pictures than the two above!

BEST DAY EVER!

We just happened to be outside in the front yard last night and as fate would have it, guess who drove past our house? None other than the ICE CREAM MAN! (didn't even know those existed anymore!) And we know how much this little boy loves ice cream! Another one of Porter's best days ever!

LAKE POWELL

We had a wonderful time in Lake Powell this past weekend. We went down with my family, the Bouchers and the Redds and stayed on the Redd's houseboat. Porter absolutely loved every second of it and it broke his heart to leave. I was a bit worried about him keeping his life jacket on, but I guess just like clothes and hats, once it was on it never came off. He called it his swim vest and it was hard for me to get him to take it off for bed. He loved riding in the boat, playing in the sand, having ice cream (I found out later that one of the ice cream trips involved Porter eating 32 oz. of ice cream!), going on pirate ship adventures in the paddle boat and more riding in the boat. I think Porter got more boat time than anyone else! I love my little boy's zest for life. The first day while he was enjoying his first of many ice creams he informed us that it was the "Best Day Ever!" Everything is exciting to him and it is so fun to see him experience new things. Jack on the other hand didn't love Lake Powell so much. He wasn't horrible, but he decided that if he was going to have to be there that in return he should get to eat every 2 HOURS! And he sure did, even at night, which was not so fun for me. But we gotta give him credit he is only two months old! We love him anyways! But we did have a great time. The water was a bit cold, but it was nice and warm weather (after the first day)Jack Loving the Swing atop the House BoatPirate Ship Adventures with Mana and Chun (Becky and Trent)More Pirate Ship Adventures!

My Boys

Jack is 2 Months Old!
This is my favorite time of day, pure bliss I tell you!
Porter's had another bout of Tonsilitis which means for not so fun nights and unfortunately means he will probably have to have his tonsils out. (curse those tonsils and my genes that made them weak I guess because everyone in my family had theirs out at quite a young age so I'm guessing it must be somehow genetically related)
Life is Good! We are heading to Lake Powell next week so wish us luck!

Life

Life has calmed down a bit for us, and let me tell you the older I get the more I am lovin the slower, quiet days. I've started working again, although after training someone to take my position I am lucky enough to do it all from home now.
My sweet little boys are growing up too fast! Every night when I get them ready for bed I can't help but wish life could slow down. I love laying on my bed snuggling both of them while reading Porter a story. He loves to remind me that I "have two boys, Porter and Jack!" Jack is starting to have some super cute facial expressions and giving us some sweet smiles. Just like his brother he is growing like a weed! I've already hauled out 3-6 and even some 9 month clothes of Porter's. Why are my kids such giants? It amazes me how different my boys have been so far. Jack is not nearly the sleeper Porter was. He is so squirmy and has a hard time calming down. He has the constant need to be held and eats like clockwork, except at night (we are slowly getting to the four hour stretch!) He loves bath time and you can see his whole body relax when he feels the water. He loves the sound of the blow dryer and loves being held in what looks like an uncomfortably odd position sitting upright with his neck bending back so he can see the lights. Please tell me there is a seat that holds him in that position?? I love this little boy but he is growing up way too fast!
Here are a few pics of what we have been up to lately. Porter loves his cousins!

He Cracks Me Up!

Yesterday Porter was cracking me up, here are just a few tidbits that made me laugh:

Porter ran to me today wearing sunglasses and holding a flashlight.
Porter: "Mommy, will you turn on my slashlight?"
Me: "Sure, what are you going to do with it?"
Porter: "Going to find the woozle wizard. You coming?"
Me: "Ok"
We walk out to the front room where we see this snowman figurine.
Porter: "Look, there's the Woozle Wizard!"
Me: "Oh no!"
Porter: "It's okay mommy, I got you. It's not real it's just a toy."
I love this little boy's imagination!

Porter grabbed the toothpaste from my mom's room as she was unpacking. (unfortunately I was at work for this)
Becky: "Porter go put that toothpaste away!"
Porter throws the toothpaste into her suitcase, closes it and sits on it. Then he runs away.
Porter then comes back in search of the toothpaste.
Porter: "Oh no, where did the toothpaste go?" (Becky had put it away)
Becky: "I don't know, what happened to it?"
Porter: "I so sorry manna, Randal took it. He so naughty!"
Um, are we beginning to have an imaginary friend? Perhaps a mean guy to blame naughty stuff on? I guess it would make sense he would choose Randall from Monster's Inc. since he is a bad guy.

Porter and I outside playing on the swingset.
Porter: "Mommy, I want to go in that swing."
Me: "What color is it?"
Porter: "Red. I such your smart boy!"

Me sitting down to change Porter's diaper:
Me: Porter I don't like changing your diaper.
Porter: "I so sorry mommy, I need to get potty trained?"

One Month

What a month it has been. From pink eye and toncilitis, to infections and reflux, to a flood and a bed bug scare, this has been quite a crazy four weeks for our little family. We are pretty much on a first name basis with the pharmacist and have been there twice a week for every week we have been home but I think we are finally all better. Finally at this month mark I feel like I can breath a sigh of relief. It is actually quite humorous when I think about it, rather a comedy of errors. Nothing serious but enough to put a mom with baby blues over the edge.
Now on to Jackson at 1 month. He has grown into a chunk. He is now 10.5 lbs, gaining a pound a week! We are out of most of our 0-3 clothes. He is like night and day compared to Porter as a baby. He has chosen to take his longest sleeping stretch during the day. I find him at 2am staring at the ceiling and wonder how long he has been awake for. He doesn't enjoy shopping or being in his baby seat for too long. His reflux has made him a bit fussy, especially about an hour after he eats. Hopefully his meds will help him with that. I'll wake up in the middle of the night panicked because I hear him gagging and coughing and almost choking on his spit up. He would choose to spend his entire day sleeping on my chest and wants to always be held. (which most of the time I love) We're hoping that getting me a sling will help solve that problem. He has a very expressive face and loves to stare at your face. His favorite thing and something I can always count on to soothe him is bath time. He is such a darling little boy and we love him.
I would love to post some pictures of my cute little boy, but my dumb camera just dumped all of them so I won't.
